The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed that the Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip revealed an “unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.”
The Agency’s Commissioner-General, Philippe Lazzarini, said in statements to reporters, today, Sunday, “Not a single drop of water, not a single grain of wheat, or a liter of fuel was allowed to enter the Gaza Strip during the past nine days.”
He pointed to the unfolding of “an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe in the coastal sector.”
Lazzarini pointed out, “Sounding the alarm because as of today, my colleagues at UNRWA in Gaza are no longer able to provide humanitarian assistance.”
He continued: “In reality, Gaza is being strangled,” pointing to “the absence of a sense of humanity in the war, and if we look at the issue of water, we all know that water is life and that water is running out of Gaza and that life is running out of it.”
